CMST 509 Communication and Ethnography

(3) Theory and application of qualitative approaches to communication research. Emphasis is on ethnographic methods to obtain in-depth information about behaviors and beliefs of people in natural settings. Use of methods: structured interviews using heuristic elicitation methodology, participant/observation and case studies.

CMST 544 Mindfulness Research and Experience

(3) An advanced study of mindfulness practice, theory and research.  The course covers mindfulness in relation to self-regulation, health, and communication in intrapersonal, interpersonal, team, and organizational contexts. A one-day practicum is required.
